The upgrading of urban sewage standards has been basically completed, and the construction and upgrading of sewage treatment plants are currently in a market that is close to saturation. The current focus of work should gradually shift to the research of new processes, technologies, and operating mechanisms for daily operation of low energy consumption and low-carbon source consumption in sewage treatment plants. Therefore, in terms of urban sewage treatment, our company urgently needs the following technologies: (1) efficient nitrogen and phosphorus removal technology with low energy consumption and low carbon source consumption; (2) intelligent control technology for urban sewage treatment plants, build a demand response mechanism for sewage treatment processes, build an intelligent control system according to the needs and changes of the actual working conditions, and dynamically optimize and adjust the operating status of equipment. (3) Low carbon operation technology for urban sewage treatment plants. In addition, with the increasing demand for harmless, reduced, and resource utilization of surplus sludge from urban sewage treatment plants, our company urgently needs new technologies for sludge reduction and resource utilization, such as sludge carbonization and resource utilization technologies.
