Project description
Research direction New material preparation and process improvement Main business field Surface functional material preparation core technology Coating/deposition method Preparation of new functional materials Project background Plain carbon steel has excellent mechanical properties and low cost, but its low hardness, easy oxidation, and easy corrosion disadvantages seriously affect the use range of plain carbon steel. Stainless steel materials have excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, and their strong toughness and exquisite appearance over a wide temperature range make them popular among consumers. However, smelting stainless steel requires a large amount of rare and precious metals, leading to an increase in the cost of stainless steel and expensive prices. It is of great significance to prepare surface functional materials with properties of both plain carbon steel and stainless steel through a simple preparation process. The expected goal is to select appropriate elements and commonly used coating techniques to prepare high hardness and corrosion-resistant surface functional materials of plain carbon steel, improve the mechanical, chemical, and operational properties of plain carbon steel, meet pilot and production conditions, and achieve technological promotion. We now have the necessary conditions (equipment/personnel/funds) to rely on the Hebei Provincial Material Fine Crystal Preparation Technology Innovation Center, with over 10 large-scale scientific research equipment (sets) for material preparation and performance testing. The New Materials Workshop has gathered 8 doctoral students to establish a specialized research group for the preparation of new functional materials, and we will use the school's special funds for scientific research and construction to carry out research infrastructure construction and project development.
