Simon Appleton, International Relations Consultant of New Zealand East Fengsheng Bay Region, visited Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education

In the afternoon of May 19, 2023, Simon Appleton, the international relations consultant of New Zealand's East Plenty Bay Region and honorary director of the Jiangxi Provincial Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries, visited the Department of Education of Jiangxi Province, accompanied by Xiong Yi, deputy director of the sister city work department of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On behalf of the Provincial Department of Education, Shi Wenbing, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Education International Cooperation and Teacher Development Center, warmly welcomed Mr. Fang Zhijie's visit and presided over the symposium. At the meeting, Liu Wenjing, the fourth level chief staff member of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, gave a detailed introduction to the overview of education opening up in our province and the recent educational exchanges with New Zealand. Mr. Fang Zhijie elaborated on the education resources, school characteristics and international education cooperation projects of East Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. In addition, both sides discussed the possibility of future cooperation in areas such as Sino foreign cooperation in education, characteristic majors in vocational colleges, and the improvement of academic qualifications of university teachers.

Both sides hope to deepen international sister city exchanges, carry out diversified cooperation projects, and promote teacher-student exchanges between the two regions through this meeting. In the future, we will work together to plan a new model of educational exchange that covers a wider range of fields, is at a higher level, and is more innovative in development.
