Recently, witnessed by the European Science and Technology Economic and Trade Delegation of Wuxi High tech Zone, Wuxi High tech Zone enterprises Jinfeng Technology, Yingzhen Technology, and Feilan Aier have established overseas research and development centers in Germany, actively integrating into the global innovation network to accelerate the formation of an open innovation ecosystem with global competitiveness.
Why do we need to set up research and development centers overseas? In the view of Wu Guoqing, the general manager of German Goldwind Wind Energy Co., Ltd., Chinese enterprises' "going to sea" is not only about grabbing orders, but more importantly, innovation and upgrading.
The predecessor of Goldwind Technology in Germany is the wind energy research laboratory of the university of applied sciences in Salbruken, which was acquired by Goldwind Technology through technology transfer in 2008. With the production capacity of Goldwind Technology, the first 1.5MW wind turbine manufactured by a German company entered the European market.
In addition, Wuxi Yingzhen Technology Co., Ltd. will establish closer cooperation with global energy industry partners by establishing overseas research and development centers; Wuxi Feilan Aier Air Quality Technology Co., Ltd. actively engaged in multi-dimensional and multi-level exchanges and cooperation with German universities and research institutions 8 years ago. The Sino German R&D team worked closely together and launched more than 10 R&D projects in succession.
In recent years, enterprises in Wuxi High tech Zone have actively "gone global" to carry out technological research and development cooperation, and have established a total of 31 overseas research and development institutions. Among them, Weifu High Tech has established hydrogen fuel cell research and development centers in Denmark and Belgium; Tin based microchips have established an advanced sensor/analog semiconductor technology research and development center in Italy; Under the global layout framework of its parent company Midea Group, Little Swan has established washing machine business units and related research and development teams in the United States, South Korea, Germany, and other countries.
In recent years, both Jiangsu Province and Wuxi City have introduced policies to support enterprises in establishing overseas research and development institutions. Recently, the Wuxi High tech Zone has issued the "Several Policies on Accelerating the Construction of High tech Parks with World Influence", which will further support enterprises to establish overseas research and development institutions, encourage enterprises to absorb more high-quality overseas resources, advanced technology, and advanced equipment, and help enterprises engage in innovative activities such as product research and development close to overseas markets and users.
