2023 Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference opens, with Chinese and foreign guests speaking out for international cooperation

On the afternoon of May 27th, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference and the Global Technology Trading Ecological Partnership Conference opened at the Zhongguancun Exhibition and Trading Center.

Wu Zhaohui, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Zhang Tao, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Guihua, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, Yu Yingjie, Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipal Government, Chang Qide, Coordinator of the United Nations in China, Du Tao, British Deputy Trade Envoy to China, Li Zhenshou, Minister Counsellor of the Korean Embassy in China, President of the International Technology Transfer Managers Alliance (ATTP) Leaders and guests including Timothy Boyle, Director of Innovation and Commercialization at the Australian Atomic Technology Organization (ANSTO), attended and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Liu Yinchun, Deputy Secretary General of the Beijing Municipal Government.

The Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference, as an important component of the Zhongguancun Forum, was first established in 2020 with the aim of promoting the transformation and trading of global scientific and technological achievements. It aims to create a comprehensive service "fourth party platform" for international technology trading that integrates the release and promotion of high-end cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements, supply and demand docking, communication and negotiation, and promotion and display. It continues to build a globally influential highland for scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology trading, Build a global technology trading ecosystem network and create a technology trading event of "buy globally, sell globally".

Chinese and foreign guests speak out for international cooperation

Wu Zhaohui, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, delivered a speech and launched an initiative. He proposed to expand the space for international technology transfer and transformation, build a global innovation network for science and technology industry, strengthen the construction of the national technology transfer system, improve the overall efficiency of the national innovation system, accelerate the in-depth integration of enterprise led industry, university and research, and enable high-quality economic and social development.

Zhang Tao, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech expressing the hope that all parties can make good use of the Zhongguancun Technology Trading Conference platform to connect global technology trading elements and make new contributions to promoting global technological innovation exchange and cooperation. We also hope to learn more advanced foreign experience and make more contributions to promoting the sustainable development of the global economy and society and building a Community of Common Destiny.

Zhang Guihua, Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology, delivered a speech and expressed his willingness to work with friends at home and abroad to promote the facilitation, digitization, and intelligence of international scientific and technological exchanges, focusing on achievement transformation and technology trading, jointly building and sharing the "Science and Technology Innovation China" brand, allowing more scientific and technological achievements to be transformed into the market, creating benefits, actively expanding the carriers and channels of talent attraction, and creating good conditions for the development of overseas talents in China.

Vice Mayor of Beijing, Yu Yingjie, delivered a speech expressing his hope to make full use of the platform of the "Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference", to play the role of the conference as a platform for finding technology, demand, talent, and capital. Focusing on new trends and directions in scientific and technological innovation and industrial development, he hopes to engage in extensive dialogue and strengthen exchanges and cooperation, promote the transformation of a number of scientific and technological achievements, and promote scientific and technological innovation to lead high-quality economic development.

United Nations Coordinator in China, Chang Qide, delivered a speech stating that technology provides us all with enormous opportunities, making our world a better and more fair place. We must ensure that technological progress is designed and used for common interests, that walls and barriers are not built around and between these new technologies, and that international coordination and cooperation in technology development and utilization continue. We must also ensure that the groups most affected by these technologies have a greater say in their use of technology and continue to strengthen the ability of all member states to participate in these important policy considerations.

Du Tao, British Deputy Trade Envoy to China, delivered a speech, saying that the world is facing many challenges, including disease, poverty, climate change and other issues, and needs international cooperation, especially in the field of innovation, which is also very consistent with the theme of the Zhongguancun Forum.

Li Zhenshou, Minister Counselor of the South Korean Embassy in China, delivered a speech stating that with the development of artificial intelligence, we need to explore the direction of human progress and establish international norms to minimize the occurrence of errors. Technical cooperation is very important for human society, and we hope that through cooperation, human society can share the future we pursue together.

Timothy Boyle, Director of Innovation and Commercialization at the Australian Atomic Technology Organization (ANSTO), delivered a video speech stating that the conference brings together professionals in technology transfer, hoping to strengthen global cooperation and contribute to industry development.

The opening ceremony of the Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference and the Global Technology Trading Ecological Partnership Conference will be a major event of the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum. During the conference, 26 themed activities will be held to build a global technology trading ecosystem, strengthen international exchange and cooperation, promote cutting-edge innovative products, and create a national level platform for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technology trading.

Under the joint guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the opening ceremony of the conference was co sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, the Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee, the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and the Zhongguancun Development Group.
