The Representatives of Foreign Experts from Hebei Province Attend the Spring Festival Symposium in Beijing

On January 18, on the occasion of the Spring Festival, Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council, met and held a symposium in Beijing with representatives of foreign experts working in China. Two representatives of foreign experts from Hebei Province were invited to attend the symposium.

At the meeting, Premier Li Keqiang extended Chinese New Year greetings and best regards to foreign experts and their relatives in China. He thanked them for their longstanding care and support to China’s reform, opening-up and modernization efforts, and for their positive contributions to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries. He hoped that foreign experts would give full play to their strengths and offer more advice and suggestions for the work of the Chinese government.

Premier Li Keqiang noted that the Chinese government welcomes more foreign talents to come and work in China, and will continue to work to improve the level of convenience and services for foreign experts working in China, further simplify the work permit and visa procedures for foreign talent and improve the policies for foreign experts who stay or reside in China, improve the policies on taxation, foreign exchange purchases, social security, medical care, and schooling for foreign experts’ children, and provide guarantees for foreign talents to work in China with peace of mind.

In recent years, Hebei Province has closely focused on implementing the innovation-driven development strategy, relying on talent to pioneer and to propel development, enhancing efforts in introducing overseas talents (especially foreign experts), and taking multiple measures and implementing targeted policies to develop a competitive advantage from international scientific and technological talent resources. In the next step, Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology will redouble efforts to manage and serve foreign experts, actively carry out a series of activities such as the “Warmth Program” and “Hand-in-hand Program”, bring real convenience and warmth to foreign experts, so that the foreign experts who aspire for working in Hebei can “come, stay, excel, and move around at ease”.
