Introduction project: Intelligent early diagnosis robot is expected to strangle lung cancer in the cradle

Cancer is the number one killer of global human health, and lung cancer is also the "No.1" on the list of killers. The high incidence rate and mortality of lung cancer is mainly due to insufficient early prevention and screening.

The project "Intelligent Early Diagnosis Robot for Pulmonary Nodule Malignant Recurrent Tumor Cells (CTC)" landing at the offshore base aims to address this pain point. The project leader, Professor Yin Mingzhu, has been living and studying abroad for 8 years. In 2018, he returned to Hunan and established Hunan Hengya Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. with his partner, dedicated to the research and development of tumor early screening technology, anti-tumor drugs, and accompanying diagnostic technology.

The current situation and pain point of lung cancer screening in China lies in the limited and expensive options for further examination after CT detection of lung nodules. Small lung nodules cannot be accurately determined and can only be determined after their progression. "Yin Mingzhu introduced that the goal of developing early diagnosis robots is to provide clear judgment basis for clinical medical students. Currently, research data shows that diagnostic accuracy is very high, which can provide a basis for personalized and precise treatment in the future.

The team is focusing on reducing screening costs and hopes to enable early diagnosis robots to play a role in general screening, making it affordable for the general public and truly effective, "he told reporters.

The "R&D and Application of Gallium Nitride Power Semiconductor Devices and Driver Chips" project, which provides efficient power conversion semiconductor devices for carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, and the "Non invasive Continuous Blood Detection/Monitoring" project, which is based on the cross cutting edge technology of optics and artificial intelligence... In the 2022 China (Changsha) Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Competition alone, 11 projects signed contracts with offshore bases.

Zhang Shouting, a PhD in environmental medicine, has studied, worked, and lived in Sweden for over 20 years. During his tenure as the Chief Representative of the Swedish National Research Institute in China, he wanted to establish an office in China and collaborate with more enterprises.

At first, we thought about Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, but later found that Changsha's overall GDP growth rate was leading in the country. We were very optimistic because during the rapid economic development, some external innovation would be needed to support it. "Zhang Shouting said, adding that his hometown was in Hubei, and he was close in geography, popularity, and culture to Changsha, so he ultimately chose the destination in Changsha High tech Zone.

Changsha did not disappoint Zhang Shouting. It not only has the only international technology and business platform in the central and southern regions, but also has excellent supporting services. Under his leadership, the Nordic Sustainable Development Association Hunan Representative Office has become one of the main platforms for promoting cooperation in the science and technology industries between Nordic and Hunan; Under the guidance of the Changsha Association for Science and Technology, Dr. Zhang Shouting is responsible for the operation and management of the Swedish workstation at the offshore base, and is committed to introducing advanced technology projects and talents to Changsha.

He is full of expectations for Changsha to build a global research and development center city, and suggests that the offshore base focus on playing a good platform role, strengthening project and talent introduction, and achieving mutual benefit among multiple parties.

The reporter learned that as an important platform for overseas high-end talents and high-quality innovation project resources, the offshore base has established 7 overseas workstations in countries with abundant international technological innovation resources such as Sweden, Israel, and Germany. At the 8th China Europe Life Science Forum recently held, experts and scholars from multiple countries shared the latest research results and provided suggestions for the Hunan Sofa Exhibition. Among them, many people have been hired as the first batch of special experts for the "Haizhi Plan".

Building a platform: promoting the long-term transformation of more excellent scientific and technological achievements at home and abroad

Changsha should accelerate the construction of a global research and development center city with a global perspective. As a "national" brand platform, the radiation effect of offshore bases towards the world will become more prominent.

According to the plan, the office of the offshore base leadership group is located in Changsha Association for Science and Technology, and adopts a "1+N" model layout. The "1" refers to the offshore headquarters base (core area), which is built in the Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha High tech Zone) of Hunan Province, with a comprehensive service function zone, a characteristic incubator and maker space for overseas talents to grow innovation and entrepreneurship, providing comprehensive offshore innovation and entrepreneurship services, and providing full process "nanny like" services for incubated projects. "N" refers to several offshore base overseas workstations and several offshore innovation landing carriers (expansion zones). The goal is to strive to build Changsha into a national overseas talent innovation hub with international influence and competitiveness by 2025, and to form the "offshore base Changsha model" with international resource aggregation and local characteristics.
