On September 22, in the Foreign Experts Meeting Room, Guo Yuming, Level I Counselor of Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, met with Zhang Ping, Director of the US San Francisco Traditional Chinese Medicine Research & Treatment Center and President of the US California Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Bian Zhili, President of the Hebei Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, and their entourage. The two sides had discussions and exchanges on promoting scientific and technological innovation and deepening practical cooperation in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.
Guo Yuming warmly welcomed these foreign experts, thanked the US San Francisco Traditional Chinese Medicine Research & Treatment Center, the US California Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Hebei Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand for their long-term support for Hebei Province, and introduced the basic situation of Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology (Hebei Provincial Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs). He said that in recent years, great progress has been made in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Hebei's scientific and technological innovation and traditional Chinese medicine industry have continued to develop, and Hebei Province has always maintained a positive attitude of openness and cooperation. He wished that the two sides would give full play to their respective advantages, explore new development models, further deepen cooperation, complement each other's strengths and achieve win-win results.
Zhang Ping, Director of the US San Francisco Traditional Chinese Medicine Research & Treatment Center and President of the US California Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that Hebei’s traditional Chinese medicine industry is endowed with rich resources and extensive experience. She looked forward to having further exchanges and cooperation with Hebei Province. She hoped that in the future, the two sides would explore more innovative cooperation models and contents, and bring new energy to the global traditional Chinese medicine industry.
Bian Zhili, President of the Hebei Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, said that he returned to China this time because he was invited to attend an exchange and networking event for the presidents of overseas branches of China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification. He believed that Hebei Province has steadily opened ever-wider to the outside world, and made significant achievements in international exchanges. He hoped this meeting would effectively promote the economic development of the two sides, and propel the two sides to achieve more substantial results in scientific and technological innovation and other related research fields.
